Mindfulness & compassion toward the creative self...

Modern living can saturate your inner and outer frontiers and can make it difficult to navigate the magical seasons of this thing called life. When we approach creativity as medicine it creates space for psyche-soothing wonder nuggets of joy and happiness and quietens the noise. When you have  dedicated, intentional, distraction-free moments for creativity, making it a priority for your wellbeing then life feels very different...

Turning your practice into a pathway to insight, presence and peace.

Creativity is the language of the soul, a gentle unfolding of who we are, a sacred pause where our hearts can speak, and a bridge that connects us. Your creative practice can serve as a form of meditation, allowing thoughts to settle and clarity to arise. It is not just what we create, but how we open ourselves to the beauty, stillness, and possibility within.

The Peaceful Paintbrush Art Studio offers a calm, quiet, mindful space where creativity, fine art and wellbeing intersect. Through distraction-free art classes, one-to-one guidance and studio shares, it provides opportunities for artists of all levels to reconnect with their creative spirit. The studio focuses on intentional creativity, fostering personal growth, skill-building and mindful self-expression in an introvert-friendly, professional environment. Additional offerings, such as park walks, cacao, and herbal teas, enhance the experience, creating a holistic space for reflection, renewal, and artistic exploration. This is the place where your inner being is holding your heart, your hand and thanking you...

'Creativity has been fundamental to the changing landscape of my life. It has defended me, encompassed me, included me and allowed my ecology to grow and expand in unconventional and surprising wonderful ways. Its presence has been there through uneasiness, trauma, bereavement, heartache, pain, joy, bliss, inner peace and love. The creative process holds everything, the beauty, the perfect imperfections, the magic in the mundane, and the weight of sorrow. When we are faced with loss or uncertainty, it creates a beautiful space, a pause -  where we can meet our life experiences with courage, grace, and trust. It reminds us of our heart’s resilience, vast capacity for love, and its boundless joy because creativity just like meditation is a practice'

In 2020 during the COVID pandemic, Joanne co-founded and implemented an Arts-on-Prescription project in collaboration with My Sisters’ House Women’s Centre, NHS Innovation Primary Trust, NHS West Sussex, Aldingbourne Trust, Pathfinders, and Richmond Fellowship. Funded by Arts Council England and The Big Lottery, this significant and impactful 12-month initiative highlighted the significant benefits of creativity as an intervention,

promoting wellbeing and transformation.

"This experience of working with Joanne has been life-changing beyond words, with an enormous sense of achievement and an increase in confidence and peace, holistically and as an artist."

Tina - Artist Residency 2023 & 2024

“Loving-kindness is a profound recognition that our lives have something to do with one another, that everyone counts, everyone matters. It is the acknowledgment that we are all in this together, that life is interdependent.” Sharon Salzburg
